Making the Buy Handmade Promise

I Took The Handmade Pledge! BuyHandmade.org

As you start your holiday shopping this year, please consider supporting artists and crafters and buying handmade! I try to make many of my gifts each year, and when I buy, really try to seek out unique and handcrafters items. Here is an example....

I was at a craft fair yesterday, and got an early Christmas present of a beautiful scarf from KJ Woven Scarves. Karen has just graduated college in fashion merchandising, and has started her career in Boston so I was intrigued (and thrilled) to talk to her and see her absolutely gorgeous scarves. She sells on Etsy and the pictures do not do it justice. But if you are in the market for a handwoven scarf, check hers out! I got a hot pink/black Log Cabin weave one (to match my hot pink winter coat!)

Well it has been a busy weekend and I am SO wanting to make cards! But first a little house cleaning is in order! Hope you are having a great weekend (even if the weather is icky like here in Connecticut!)

Ooo thanks for the heads up on the scarves am right behind you on the handmade, I have just bought all my cushions for my new sofa and they are all handmade. I have taken the handmade pledge too on my blog and I also sell o Etsy. I also buy handmade where ever I can. Mainly for ethical reasons and to try and eliminate slave labour.

Thank you for the reminder about the handmade pledge. I took the pledge and put a post on Made For Keeps.
