Easter Blessings

Tonight is my monthly card class with three good friends, and our theme is Easter, Bella Bleu style! We are making two cards, so I will post one tonight and the other tomorrow night. We are also making the Tiny Treat basket that I posted the other day.

They asked me to come up with a card using the "kiss" stamping technique, so I challenged myself to do it this month along with the Easter and Bella Bleu themes. Ended up being pretty easy! The sketch for the card above is Mojo Monday week 78, and it lends itself so well to the cross from the Refuge and Strength set.

If you are not familiar with the Kiss technique, it involves two stamps: one a solid stamp (in this case the cross) and the other a patterned stamp (I used the background stamp Bella Toile). I stamped the Cross in Very Vanilla Craft Ink, and stamped Bella Toile in Not Quite Navy. I then touched the Cross to the Bella Toile stamp (without moving or twisting or anything!) and then stamped it on the Very Vanilla card stock.

The result is a solid stamp with a pattern! If you would like a photo tutorial, let me know! I will add it to my list (along with finishing the other brayer tuts!) I know GIna K just did a great video on StampTV that I watched before I made this card. So check it out!

Here is a close up of two sheets of the Bella Bleu paper. It is so elegant! Would be perfect for a wedding or other formal event!

For the inside of the card, I used some Easter Elegant WordArt from Bethany, layered with Bella Bleu and Not Quite Navy. She is so generous to offer free wordart every day! Along with the wordart she sells, I find myself using it quite a bit for the inside sentiment of cards (cheaper than stamps, and you can re-color them!) This sentiment I printed in a navy blue.

So off I go to a fun evening! I will post the other card we are making tomorrow night...then I have to get ready for the Unity Stamps Blog Hop!! Have a great night!
