Next, I had to choose my DSP and color palette. I recently picked up some Basic Gray paper from Julies Scrapbook Store at your Door. The Marrakesh paper seemed perfect for this butterfly, and I love the colors. I chose two patterns and used some of the solid paper (the rust color actually, not the blue I show here) for layering.
Coloring the image, I used my Spica Glitter Pens in the colors of the paper. I started by stamping the image in Memento Tuxedo Black ink. To sponge the outside of the butterfly circle, I used Dew Drops Pearlescent Poppy that matches pretty well. I also popped up the large circle for dimension. The three circles at the bottom are layered circles of solid and prints, topped with a prima flower and glitter brad. I use glue dots to apply to the card.
I wish the glitter pens showed up better, but they are beautiful pens! I love the way this card came out and all because of the great sketch!
