A card and tut info!

Blog hops are so fun! I spent yesterday going through almost 100 blogs for the SNR Hop and the inspiration is endless...so I am spending today creating! I am so glad the sun is out too, I can actually take pictures outside! This card is created for DigiDay over at SNR Card Universe. Sponsored by the Digi Shack, I hope I did this right! We got a free image to use, and a sketch to follow. Since I ILOVE chicken images, I had to grab this one to color! I printed the image on smooth watercolor paper, and used my SU! watercolor pencils to color, with an aquapainter for watering.

I went with some farm-ish colors, More Mustard, Tangerine Tango (retired incolor) and Haiku DSP (also retired). I also used some ribbon and twine to finish the sketch. Oh yes, and the fringe I added to kind of sort of look like hay. I am not big on grunging or antiqu-ing things so..I guess it could definitely be more rustic...but I stuck with a graphic cartoony style, which is more up my alley.

Several people also asked me how I made the star box and shadow card on the Blog Hop post for the 4rth. Well, the star box is right off the Scor-Pal website! If you did not know..they have lots of great tutorials and projects! I just modified the size of the Star Box to fit my need! The Shadow Box can be found in the resources section of Splitcoast Stampers. Both tuts are really easy to follow!

I am off to work on several more cards and projects for this week! Thanks for stopping by!
