Ever lose your scissors?

This is not a new idea, sometimes I wonder where I have been the past couple of years! I have seen this idea for scissor charms on several blogs, and wanted to try it out. Actually...this can be used for so many things! Cell phone charms, book thongs, zipper pulls, purse charms, jewelry....oh I can go on! But I decided to put these on my scissors since when I go to friends homes and do classes sometimes I wonder if I have left with everything!

If the flowers look familiar, they are the same digital images from Angels Landing Pierced Flowers that I used yesterday in my glass project. The tag image is from the Angels Landing Pierced Tags. I printed the images on Shrinky Dink plastic for inkjet printers, and colored them with water based markers (I used LePlume markers for these).

Here are some other ones I made. The white flower was the first one I did, just to see how it came out. Then I colored the next set. I sprayed them with Krylon Matte varnish after they cooled too!

Images: Angels Landing Pierced Flowers, Angels Landing Pierced Tags
technique: Water based markers (Le Plume), Shrinky Dinks for Inkjet Paper
accessories: jump rings (Fire Mountain Gems), charm holder thingy (Oriental Trading)

What an awesome idea!!! I love the bright, cheerful colors, and I didn't even know that they made shrinky dinks for printers! How cool!!! You are always a wealth of inspiration!!!

I also wanted to thank you for the concern you expressed over my being ill. I am still not 100%, but I am getting better with each passing day. Again, I thank you for thinking of me!!!

Hugs!
Carolyn

Lauri, what a clever idea. You are coming up with ways to use my digital images that I hadn't thought about. This Shrinky Dinks idea opens up a whole world of possibilities.

I made my cat the most adorable name tag for her collar...cut a circle with a scallop punch, doodled flowers and vines on the border and then printed the vitals...shrunk it up-perfect! A week later all the ink rubbed off and it's now a blank tag. Guess they don't wear well-on a cat anyway! Yours are adorable-hope you get a long run with them!

There's shrinky dink stuff for your printer???? What rock have I been living under??? Yikes! Although I have never been able to make shriky stuff work for me...I'm challenged that way. LOL!

Wow, Laurie! Great project idea! I never knew there was shrinky dink for inkjet printers??? I've never worked with shrinky dinks before but now I am going to have to look into buying some. You did a great job showcasing the flowers in a one-of-a-kind creation. Love how you personalized it too - great idea for gifts!
