Trying to get back in the groove!!!

Hey there! I am using a couple of the SCS challenges to try to get back into the stamping groove! I feel like I have lost it!! Anyway....here you go!

For this week's Sketch Challenge, I colored an RAK image I received from April. A High Hopes Stamp! A Frog in Boxers..what a cute image!

And, for this week's Way To Use It Challenge, using scissors in a different way, I took some paper I had bought that has a great jungle background and trimmed it up as a multi layer background for a Starving Artist Stamp Giraffe! I generated the sentiment off the computer; I could not figure out what to say..then I thought of "Its a Jungle Out there!" I am not sure if the giraffe looks scared, sad, or what...but he is a cutey!

Birthday Greeting

My boss's birthday is in a few weeks, so I am in the process of deciding what to make her as a gift. I have built the reputation of making my gifts so..talk about pressure!!! Anyone have any ideas???

This card uses this weeks Sketch Challenge at SCS (172). I finally used a piece of hodgepodge hardware! I was so nervous using it! I guess I feel like it was a huge investment so I want to make the best use of it. I used all SU! paper as well, and stamped a simple image from Starving Artist Stamps. I did not even color this!!!

Thanks for looking..hope everyone got a chance to enjoy today's weather! It was beautiful here in Connecticut. I was able to work from home today due to a sore back...good thing that did not stop me from stamping.

Have fun this weekend with whatever you do!

Happy Street

Hello everyone! It is has been a busy couple of weeks for me at work, so my creative hobby has taken a bit of a back seat. But I have been able to put together a card for this weeks Sketch Challenge! and I have many ideas flying around in my head and in my sketchbook! Now if I could just win that lottery.....Money .... can't blame me for dreaming!

So a few months ago, I picked up a few of these cute little storefront stamps from Amuse. I have had an idea of making a little street scene..just have not gotten around to making it yet. When I saw this week's Sketch Challenge, I thought I may be able to make these stamps fit. So, off I went!

I stamped the stores and colored them with my handy colored pencils and used mineral spirits for blending. Putting that aside, I layered the various parts of the card, using some bright, springy colors! I purchased this edge puncher from Gina K and used it to spruce up the layers and provide a frame for the brads.

So when I went to put it together, alas I found the houses were too big. But, I was not going to give up so I just layered them. This card is sooooooo thick!

When I start a card, I usually grab stamps, ink, paper, ribbon, etc that coordinate and get started. So the ribbon had to find a place as well!

So that is the story of this happy street. Hope you have had a great day!

Longing for sunshine and nice weather, I pulled out my Hambo stamp and some blue papers and off we went! I liked adding the ribbon and fiber to the bottom. I have a lot of fiber I had purchased last year to make jewelry, and I like the way it adds to the ribbon so I will have to experiment with it more. Have a good day!
