Happy Street

Hello everyone! It is has been a busy couple of weeks for me at work, so my creative hobby has taken a bit of a back seat. But I have been able to put together a card for this weeks Sketch Challenge! and I have many ideas flying around in my head and in my sketchbook! Now if I could just win that lottery..... .... can't blame me for dreaming!

So a few months ago, I picked up a few of these cute little storefront stamps from Amuse. I have had an idea of making a little street scene..just have not gotten around to making it yet. When I saw this week's Sketch Challenge, I thought I may be able to make these stamps fit. So, off I went!

I stamped the stores and colored them with my handy colored pencils and used mineral spirits for blending. Putting that aside, I layered the various parts of the card, using some bright, springy colors! I purchased this edge puncher from Gina K and used it to spruce up the layers and provide a frame for the brads.

So when I went to put it together, alas I found the houses were too big. But, I was not going to give up so I just layered them. This card is sooooooo thick!

When I start a card, I usually grab stamps, ink, paper, ribbon, etc that coordinate and get started. So the ribbon had to find a place as well!
